Conflict Material

FEI-Elcom Tech, Inc. takes seriously our responsibility to conduct its operations in a socially, ethically, and environmentally responsible manner. We recognize that we are accountable, and do not knowingly support or contribute to the violence and human rights violations associated with the mining of, trading of certain metals, specifically tantalum, tungsten, cobalt, tin, and gold (Conflict Minerals).

The Security Exchange Commission’s 2012 final rule requires the disclosure of Conflict Minerals used in the manufacture of products. FEI-Elcom Tech, Inc is committed to support the objective of the U.S. Legislation, on the supply of “conflict minerals”, and is committed to use our best efforts to ensure that we do not directly or indirectly support violence and human rights abuses in the DRC.

We have an inquiry process to secure information from our suppliers. We are asking our suppliers to undertake reasonable due diligence, to assure, in writing, that the specified metals are only being sourced from mines and smelters outside the identified which have been certified by an independent third party as “conflict free”. Some suppliers already have provided such statement on their web sites. We will continue to work with our suppliers to verify that they support conflict free rules. If we discover any of these minerals have been produced in a “non conflict free” area we will assess future business with those suppliers, and encourage them to adopt similar policies and management systems with respect to Conflict Minerals and to drive those efforts throughout their supply chain. FEI-Elcom tech, Inc. will drill down to 2nd tier suppliers, if we cannot obtain satisfactory results through our first tier efforts.

All purchase orders released to our suppliers contain the following language.

Conflict Materials (tantalum, tungsten, cobalt, tin, and gold) must come from responsible sources. FEI-Elcom Tech, Inc will not accept parts that are known to contain these five materials from the DRC. Traceability is the responsibility of our vendors and they should work with their suppliers to provide same back to the raw minerals.
